Following the basic education in the first year, the students are taught about carpet-rugs and old fabric patterns, old tile repairs and gilding trainings. With the theoretical and practical training, the students are expected to discover the resources that existed in the past, perform their repairs and take an active role in daily life. At the same time, we pursue to ensure the preservation of traditional values and their transmission to future generations correctly.

History

The Department of Traditional Turkish Handicrafts was established in 2019 and aims to provide its students with a suitable education according to the understanding and artistic approaches of the era. The graduates can continue their lives as a free traditional Turkish artist and utilize the aesthetic and technical equipment that they have received from their education in the fields of art education, art consultancy and restoration. Willing students can continue their education and make academic career.
